A Caring Place is a Child Advocacy Center in Jefferson County providing a child-friendly environment for child victims and witnesses of abuse to be interviewed and examined as needed. Services are available for individuals aged birth through 18 years (up to 21 years of age for individuals with developmental disabilities). Will meet clients at hospital, court, and the police station. Evidence-based interventions are available, including:
Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy
Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR)
Child-parent psychotherapy
Cognitive behavioral intervention for trauma in school
