Cuyahoga County's Division of Witness Victim Services is comprised of both the Family Justice Center and the Witness Victim Service Center. Services are available for free for any victim of violent crime. Family Justice Center assistance is available during regular business hours (M-F, 8:30-4:30), no appointment is needed. Services are available to any resident of Cuyahoga County who may need assistance with safety planning, orders of protection, or general advice. Witness Victim justice system advocacy services are available to victims of crime with active criminal cases in Cleveland Municipal Court or the Court of Common Pleas. Services include:
Developing a safety plan
Communicating effectively with law enforcement, the prosecutor and court personnel
Navigating the court process
Identifying supportive community resources
Filing a protection order
Applying for compensation from the Ohio Victims of Crime Compensation Fund, administered by the Ohio Attorney General
