The Office of Exceptional Family Members Program (from the Department of Defense) is pleased to provide the Department of Defense Special Needs Parent Tool Kit — Birth to 18. This tool kit provides information and resources that will help you improve your quality of life and teaches you how to advocate for your child with special needs. Each of the six modules addresses issues you are likely to encounter throughout your child’s life. Whether your child has been recently diagnosed with a special need or if you are a parent for whom the diagnosis is not new, this tool kit has something for you.
It is our hope that this tool kit will empower you to keep moving forward by providing the tools you need to help your child be successful.
