Family Foundations Early Head Start
Resource Details
Family Foundations Early Head Start’s goal is to embrace positive developmental outcomes of children through supportive services to the child, family, and community where they live.
Who We Serve:
Family Foundations at CHS provides child development and family support to low-income families with children from birth to age three and pregnant mothers in the North Side and Hill District neighborhoods of Pittsburgh. Family Foundations services are also available in Clairton, the East End, Sto-Rox, and Turtle Creek through the University of Pittsburgh Office of Child Development.
Impact:
Family Foundations promotes the optimal social, intellectual, emotional, and physical development of children. Home visitors support parents in their role as caregivers, teachers, and providers, so that parent/child relationships and families will develop to their fullest potential. They also work with the families to promote and enhance existing community resources for the benefit of children and their families.
