The Victim Witness Assistance Unit in the Franklin County Prosecutor's Office assists victims of felony crimes in navigating the criminal justice system. Victim advocates work with victims of child abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and families of homicide victims and provide courtroom accompaniment, resources, referrals, assistance with victims of crime compensation applications, VINE, provide victim's rights information, link the victims/survivors to post-prosecution assistance, and provide many more services including animal-assisted therapy ( a therapy dog can be requested for victims when engaging in services incuidng court).
