The Gallia County Victim Assistance Program is designed to provide information and support to victims of crime. Victim advocates serve victims in both criminal and juvenile divisions by giving victims a voice in the judicial process. Advocates aid and encourage crime victims as their case proceeds through the criminal justice process. Additionally, referrals for trauma informed counseling can be completed at the request of a victim. Services include:
accompany victims to court and meetings with prosecutors
Inform victims of case status
Inform victims of their rights
Assist victims with filing for the Crime Victim Compensation Program
Assist with safety planning
Help victims navigate through the parole process
Provide referrals for additional assistance
Advocate on behalf of victims
