Harcum House Children's Advocacy Center (Fairfield County, Ohio) uses a facility-based, multidisciplinary approach to address the problem of child abuse. Professionals from the fields of law enforcement, children's services, victim services, mental health, prosecution and medicine come together to investigate, treat and prosecute cases of child sexual and severe physical abuse. These institutions work cooperatively to ensure that children are not further victimized by the very systems intended to protect them, securing comprehensive and coordinated services for child victims and their families. Legal advocacy services include accompaniment to court and meetings, protection order assistance, criminal court advocacy for victim witnesses, courtroom preparation; medical advocacy includes accompaniment to medical appointments, emergency room visits, and SANE/SAFE sexual assault exams. Forensic interview services available on-site, as well as STI testing.
