The founder of our project, Sue Jamieson, is the attorney, who along with her colleagues at the Atlanta Legal Aid brought Olmstead v. L.C., on behalf of two women with mental illness and developmental disabilities from, Georgia. The Olmstead case became the U.S. Supreme Court’s landmark disability, rights decision and has impacted the lives of millions of people – both with, and without disabilities – across the United States.
We’ve created this website in collaboration with our, partners and funders to be a place for everyone to learn about the Olmstead, decision. We also share how the Olmstead decision has positively impacted the, people’s lives in their own words through stories, photos, and videos. They, have chosen to share their Olmstead stories with you and to declare, “I am, Olmstead!” to spread the word about the greater opportunities for building lives, of choice, meaning, and independence in the community thanks to the Olmstead, decision.
