Philomatheon Society of the Blind's mission and goal is to help the blind and visually impaired in the community to help themselves to remain or to become able to live independently, and an active member of their community. This is accomplished with social interaction with other members of the Society, educational programs, and activities conducted by the Society. The Society also gathers information of all kinds that can help the blind and visually impaired of the community and their family and friends. No membership is required, most services are provided at no or little cost.
