Providence House is a licensed crisis nursery in Cuyahoga County that offers free, voluntary (non-custodial) emergency shelter to children newborn through twelve years old, actively living in crisis situations which place them at risk of abuse or neglect. Providence House delivers a holistic, integrated two-generation program focused on family preservation. Providence House offers emergency shelter, direct care service, medical care and monitoring, case management/aftercare, parent support and education, family trauma services, community education and resiliency, Staff are trained in trauma-informed services through the National Center for Trauma and Loss in Children (TLC) through STARR, and offer evidence-based family and small group interventions, including:
Strengthening family coping resources
Child Witness to Violence program
Yoga
Sensoring-based interventions and services
Music Therapy
