Resource Details
Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services waiver for eligible South Carolina residents with traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, or a similar disability. Provides services and supports that help individuals remain safely in their home or community instead of receiving institutional care. Services may include personal assistance, respite care, nursing, therapies, environmental and vehicle modifications, assistive technology/medical equipment, independent living skills, behavioral support, employment services, and other individualized supports.
Demographic Restrictions
Individuals with severe chronic limitations resulting from traumatic brain injury (TBI), spinal cord injury (SCI), or a similar physical disability. The condition must result in substantial functional limitations in at least two major life activities. Applicants must also meet Nursing Facility or ICF/IID level-of-care criteria and be eligible for Medicaid.
Geographic Restrictions
South Carolina residents only. Participant must remain eligible for South Carolina Medicaid and HASCI Waiver services. Waiver services terminate if the participant moves out of South Carolina.
